Towns in Franklin County use real estate taxes to fund schools, fire departments, police departments, recycle centers or trash pick up, recreations departments, snow removal, road repairs and so much more.

As a town determines the yearly budget to provide services to its residents, they see residential homeowners as one  source for revenue.  Revenue for each town is also obtained from the business community and the state.
