Pioneer Valley Halloween Events

The Pioneer Valley is alive with an array of parties and activities for the whole family, starting this weekend and continuing through Halloween Night!

Spend a scarey evening in a local corn maze or join the Halloween Harvest Festival for family fun and great food.

MAR Announces RMCI up 57.73 percent!

According to the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS, the REALTOR Market Confidence Index (RMCI) is up 57.73 %.  This increase is 166% higher over the same time last year.  This is the 14th straight month there has been an increase of the RMCI.  For details on how this information is compiled check out the MAR article.  This is great news for those homeowners that have been waiting for market increases to list their homes.  Confidence is up, markets appear stable and interest rates still at all time lows.

High Rents Make Buying a Better Option

For the past several years there has been some confusion over whether it has been a better deal to rent or buy a home. Buying has always been the best long term investment. With the changes in the market it is now clear that in almost any situation buying is the best bet.

Rents over the past few years have been on the rise and the demand for rental housing has been shrinking rental availability raising the rents and the competition for acceptable units. Rents have been increasing at about a rate of 2.5 percent a year while home prices have been dropping at about 3.1 percent a year. This makes buying a much better option.
